Europe's leading producer of injection-moulded plastic packaging, Superfos, is to acquire the Swedish packaging company Mipac. Superfos, which is 33% owned by Ratos, is thus taking an important further step within food packaging and complementing its product range.
Mipac's packaging is primarily marketed to the food industry. In 2006 Mipac's sales was SEK 200m and EBITDA SEK 46m. The company has 65 employees and has made extensive investments in its production plant in Mullsjö in recent years.
"Mipac and Superfos complement each other well," says Superfos CEO Hans Pettersson. "There are good opportunities for us to co-ordinate parts of our operations and by making the most of our different experiences, we will be able to offer our customers additional service and quality."
Superfos is Europe's largest manufacturer of injection-moulded plastic packaging. The company's packaging is sold to the food and other industries.
